Soil Roasters - Uganda Mananasi 250g
is crop comes to you from an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level, in a fertile and ideal land for growing coffee cherries in Uganda, specifically in the Kinga Kyanza district.
The story of Mananasi begins when the Great Lakes Coffee team conducted a unique social experiment that deserves to be told. To improve the quality of coffee, the team decided to work in an area known for producing low-quality Arabica coffee at a low price compared to similar areas in Uganda. The team sought to develop a special program to train farmers. The training team would create a farmer with a leadership role in the community and provide intensive and in-depth training courses in agricultural engineering, processing and harvesting methods. Then, 35 members of small farmers would be appointed for each leading farmer. These small groups would be rewarded with a financial bonus according to the unit. The higher the quality of the coffee, the higher the wage of the working group. The leading farmer would receive an additional bonus for the double training he provided to his colleagues as an incentive and guarantee for the knowledge he efficiently transferred to them during the training.
Red Cherry Program
It is the next stage of the quality improvement that has been taking place gradually over recent years.
This program focuses primarily on quality first and foremost; by guiding farmers to pick only ripe cherries, then drying the coffee on raised beds, and after the coffee is completely dry, it is sent to the processing plant to remove any possible defects in the coffee; to ensure a clean and clear cup of coffee.
