Manual Brewing Advanced
Master advanced manual brewing through hands-on training in recipe creation, extraction analysis, and water quality control.
This 1–2 hour advanced-level session focuses on hands-on brewing techniques, recipe formulation, and water chemistry. Participants will explore how brewing variables and water quality impact extraction and flavor, while learning how to evaluate brews with or without a refractometer.
In this advanced course, participants will:
1. Explore how roast level, grind size, and brew ratio affect flavor and balance
2. Learn to craft and refine recipes using various manual brewing techniques
3. Understand extraction levels and their impact without relying solely on devices
4. Develop sensory analysis skills to describe and compare brewed coffee profiles
5. Get introduced to advanced water concepts like hardness, pH, and buffering capacity
6. Practice water testing and assess how mineral content alters the brewing outcome
7. Utilize brewing charts and evaluation tools to troubleshoot and improve results
